My Dream

So with all this extra spare time I finally have (seriously it took a fucking pandemic to get me my time off I needed at work... >.>) I've been thinking a lot.  And it's something I had been thinking about again before all this nonsense started started, but now that I have a lot of free time it's forefront in my mind again.  I want to make money from my blog and maybe youtube videos and stuff.

Several years ago I had started putting all of these thoughts and ideas on paper and doing research and all that.  There are several reasons why I want to, the two big ones being .. well.  I want to.  The other being that eventually I'm not going to be able to work full time outside the house and I will still need an income.  Something like what I'm talking about I could work part time a couple days a week for a steady paycheck (and thankfully I could simply do that with the company I'm working for now; train a new manager and demote myself and not have to go through the stress of job hunting) and then use the rest of the time for secondary income through posts, videos and such.

I actually have a lot of ideas for worksheets and such that I could make as well (I've been learning Canva for other reasons lately actually).  I started all of this several years ago but then my job situation was ... well, let's just say complicated, so I wasn't able to continue going and because my job situation put me in a pretty negative emotional state of mind I literally ripped up and threw out my notes and such.  Yea.  Not happy with myself about that.  I find myself desperately wishing I had continued all of that, even if it were just in the form of jotting down notes and such.  Either way I can start again now and have time to learn, make mistakes and see what works for me.  That way once the time does come (which is at least a couple years down the road yet) I will be set with some sort of secondary income.

Well there's that I guess.  LOL

What's going on right now...

So I've been wanting to write a new blog for a while now.  I've had a lot to talk about and get off my chest but as things have been going on society wise and world wise what I've wanted to say has changed.  So with this Covid-19 thing here in ND the government hasn't done as much as I feel like needs to be done so I've chosen to self-quarantine for 2 weeks.  I am very susceptible to upper respiratory illness (seriously last year I had pneumonia twice in 6 weeks) and I became uncomfortable with the risk.

So I'm not going to go into a lot of my opinions about this pandemic we are in.  My opinion changes slightly as we get more scientific information on it as well as numbers come out with who is affected and such.  However as the need to clean and disinfect has risen I my desire to live zero waste and make my own cleaners and such has been reinvigorated greatly.  (Here I talk a little bit about my zero waste journey.)

I've been doing a lot of research and as we have been shopping I've picked up a few items here and there to make my own cleaners while I spring clean my house during this quarantine.  I'm super excited to try making toilet bombs! I have a couple different recipes I'm going to try and see what works best for us.  We are horrible about toilet cleaning so I'm hoping this will help us.

I'm super excited about making my own cleaners because we have cats and we both are very sensitive to chemical scents and headache/migraine prone so eliminating a lot of the chemicals and stuff will be good for all of that, not to mention being way cheaper.  Seriously all of the "ingredients" I purchased to make these items, which will be seriously a good year's worth cost about 2 months worth of commercial chemical cleaners.  Not to mention the companies that make the cleaners want you to believe you need a separate cleaner for everything.  Why is that?  If it's safe to clean my kitchen counter surely I can clean my bathroom sink with it, ya know?

At any rate that's what I'm doing right now.  Keeping a lot of my thoughts to myself regarding this pandemic.  Going to be spring cleaning and I'm super excited about that.  I'm going to be making a bullet journal collection style journal for my homemade cleaners and what items are good for what and so forth.

One other note though is that I have never eaten this healthy in my life.  When it comes to illnesses one of the best things to do is to support your immune system so you can stay as healthy as possible.  Plus we don't want to eat food cooked out of our control right now.  We had already been focusing back on eating home cooked food again so taking that a little further was not all that hard.  It feels wonderful and I am hoping, praying and intending to continue these healthier lifestyle changes once the pandemic is over.

I hope everyone is doing as well as can be!

Your Body Is Sacred

This is something that I forget about all the time.  It ties into a lot of my personal spiritual beliefs as I believe that my body is the physical home for my Spirit, however even if you don't hold that belief... your body is still the home for your mind/intellect/character/personality.  As such if and when we treat our bodies poorly we are treating our Sacred Selves poorly as well.  I need to remember this .. maybe I should tattoo it on my hand or something LOL

It's really hard though, especially when you have other emotional/physical issues, plus it's complex.  There's so much more than bathing regularly, or eating well, or sleeping well.  This can involve simply shaving (seriously if I don't shave regularly I feel all sorts of out of sorts...), being physically active (or not!) having sex and/or masturbating (or not), coloring your hair (or not!) it is wholly unique for each person.

But, the point I want to make is that your body is yours.  You are the one who is in charge of it, and you are the one who gets to say what happens to it.  But this is also a sacred responsibility; if you are in a physical relationship with someone and you are not telling them that you like this but not that... That is totally on you; how are they to know?  Sure there are subtle signs and stuff but all you need to do is say something.  And if that partner is judgmental/rude about it that's not your problem, it's totally theirs.

Further, your sacred responsibility means that you must accept whatever consequences happen because of your behavior.  Be as safe as you can about things.  Research your body modification artists.  Use safer sex practices.  Drink water.  Sleep regularly.  Listen to the advice of your physician(s) but also seek a second (or third!) opinion if you feel it's appropriate.

This goes for people of all sexes and genders in all types of relationships.  It is your body and you have the sacred right to determine what happens, and doesn't happen, to it.  So in a few bullet points:

  • You can say no after saying yes!
  • You can engage in body modification!
  • You can cover as much skin as you want!
  • You can have as many sexual partners as you want!
  • You can have as few sexual partners as you want!
